Hounawi… The Voice of Iran Emerging from a Climate of Debauchery

- in Society

Aziz Hannawi, a leader in the Justice and Development Party, has crossed all boundaries in his recent posts. He didn’t just attack Arab rulers; he extended his criticisms to his own country, Morocco, using a vulgar and aggressive language that clearly signals his allegiance to external groups, specifically Iran and Qatar. What Hannawi is doing is not a personal opinion, but rather the implementation of directives that contradict the interests of his country and tarnish Morocco’s image both domestically and internationally.

What is both surprising and infuriating is his party’s silence. The Justice and Development Party, which is supposed to represent national values and protect Morocco’s image, has chosen to overlook his repeated outbursts. This silence is no less dangerous than Hannawi’s rhetoric; it implicitly endorses him and leaves the public questioning: has the party become merely a tool for advancing foreign agendas?

Hannawi’s posting style reflects his social environment, one in which lineages have intermixed and low forms of relationships and social practices have been normalized. His use of mockery, hostility towards symbols, and the conflation of politics with provocative statements are all reflections of this background, which has not instilled loyalty to the homeland or respect for national symbols.

What we see today is not merely a political outburst but a deliberate attempt to distort Morocco’s image and undermine its Arab role. Hannawi’s loyalty to foreign entities at the expense of his own country makes him a dangerous political model and serves as a stark lesson for anyone who thinks that party affiliation overrides national loyalty.

Nationalism is not just slogans, nor is loyalty merely words. Patriotism manifests in actions, and loyalty is measured by daily behavior and the ability to place the country’s interests above any external allegiance. The silence of the Justice and Development Party today reflects an implicit acceptance of these violations and leaves the Moroccan public facing a painful reality: a leader in a party that represents them has chosen allegiance to foreign powers over his own nation.

If the silence continues, every future statement from Hannawi will become an implicit reference point, and the harmful messages toward his homeland will persist without any restraint. Morocco needs a party that stands against these practices, rather than turning a blind eye and granting them an official stamp of legitimacy.
