French Radio: The “Marhaba 2025” Operation Sees “Unprecedented” Demand

French radio station Beur FM has confirmed that the “Marhaba 2025” operation is experiencing “unprecedented” demand, with the number of Moroccan expatriates crossing the borders since June exceeding 2.7 million. This affirms the “loyalty of the community” and the “flourishing tourism.”

In an article on its website titled “A Record Summer for the Moroccan Community and Tourism in Morocco!”, the radio noted, “The numbers speak for themselves: between June 10 and August 4, 2025, approximately 2.8 million Moroccans from abroad entered the kingdom, representing an increase of over 10 percent compared to last year.”

The same source added that the “Marhaba” operation is thus achieving a remarkable “success,” highlighting that this dynamic coincides with a particularly “promising” July for Moroccan tourism, which attracted 11.6 million visitors in just seven months.

In less than two months, 2,789,197 expatriates have arrived in Morocco, marking an increase of 10.37 percent compared to 2024, while the number of cars that crossed the border reached 838,360, reflecting a rise of 3.74 percent.

The Port of Tangier Med remains the primary entry point for Moroccan expatriates, having welcomed 555,753 travelers and 175,808 vehicles, accounting for 35.87 percent of total arrivals by land and sea.

Meanwhile, Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca leads air transport with 320,395 travelers, representing a quarter of arrivals by air.

Additionally, teams from the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, deployed at crossing points and rest areas, conducted 45,465 interventions, including 2,858 medical responses, as reported by the radio.

The source further noted that the return phase is also mobilizing the same human and logistical resources, in coordination with partners in the operation, to ensure fluidity and security. It highlighted that port authorities, in cooperation with the Directorate General of National Security, customs authorities, and local governments, have implemented “accelerated procedures” to reduce waiting times at border crossings and customs.

The French radio concluded by stating that “these achievements fall within the framework of the 2023-2026 strategy, aimed at diversifying markets, enhancing infrastructure, and enriching the tourism offering.”
