Police in the city ofoula Taima, in close coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, managed to dismantle a dangerous criminal network involved in forgery, its use, fraud, and impersonation of legally protected identities.
This precise security operation took place on the evenings of Wednesday and Thursday, August 27 and 28, during which two individuals suspected of involvement in a carefully planned criminal activity through social media were arrested. The main suspect utilized these platforms to publish false advertisements about job opportunities in public and private institutions, leading many victims into a trap, delivering financial amounts in exchange for deceptive promises of employment.
During a search conducted at the main suspect’s home in the rural area of Boulamin Ida Oumenu, a range of equipment and evidence was seized which supports the hypothesis of the defendants’ involvement in these criminal acts. This included a computer, mobile phones, and electronic devices, as well as identity cards, documents, and diplomas in other people’s names, and seals suspected to be forged, belonging to a doctor and a lawyer.
The search also resulted in the confiscation of 60 used phone recharge cards, counterfeit keys, fake receipts for registration in police and justice recruitment exams, along with forged employment contracts in public and private institutions, and a sum of money believed to be the proceeds of these fraudulent operations.
The arrested individuals have been subjected to judicial investigation under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor’s office, with the aim of deepening the inquiry and determining all circumstances and details surrounding the case, as well as identifying all crimes committed by the suspects and their potential accomplices.
This operation comes as part of ongoing security efforts to combat digital crime and tackle fraud schemes that exploit citizens’ need for jobs, at a time when security services affirm their commitment to diligently and vigilantly pursue such criminal activities.
