Dozens of Individuals with Mental Disorders Appear in the Streets of Casablanca

Casablanca has witnessed a notable increase in the number of people suffering from mental disorders roaming the streets this August, following their release from the Razi Hospital for Mental and Psychological Disorders in Berrechid.
Sources from “Express TV” confirmed that the leave of many hospital staff, including doctors and nurses, contributed to the release of a number of cases, particularly those who do not pose an immediate risk to public safety. Residents have expressed their dissatisfaction with this situation, especially in coastal areas like Ain Sebaâ and Ain Diab, which have seen a higher concentration of such cases.
The same source indicated that health authorities plan to launch a sweeping operation at the beginning of September to return some of these individuals to shelters in Berrechid, while the Razi Hospital continues to suffer from significant overcrowding, despite being the main national center dedicated to caring for this population.
