Casablanca… Security Movements to Reactivate Closed Police Stations

Recent days have seen significant security operations in Casablanca aimed at inventorying closed police stations and identifying the reasons behind their non-opening, despite months passing since their construction as part of the project to renovate the economic capital.

Sources have confirmed to “Express TV” that these actions were initiated after receiving repeated complaints from residents about some closed security buildings, especially those adjacent to parks and public spaces, becoming shelters for the homeless and sites for suspicious activities, creating what has been described as an “offensive” situation for the image of security institutions.

An informed source stated that the relevant authorities have begun field campaigns to catalog these neglected police stations and determine the technical and administrative reasons that have prevented their operation. The goal is to expedite the reopening and equipping of these stations with necessary personnel and resources.

The source added that some recently inaugurated parks, despite having designated areas for security units, still lack a physical security presence, encouraging exploitation by delinquents and homeless individuals, prompting the authorities to reassess the situation.

These movements come as part of a comprehensive plan to improve security coverage in public spaces and enhance the sense of safety in densely populated neighborhoods.
