Decisive Police Intervention in Kenitra Prevents Serious Assault on Officers and Citizens
A swift police response in the early hours of Friday morning thwarted a potential outbreak of chaos in the “Hope” neighborhood of Kenitra, where four individuals in an unusual state of agitation threatened public safety and violently attacked police officers.
An anti-gang patrol from the Kenitra Security Directorate intervened upon finding the suspects caught in the act of causing nighttime disturbances. However, the response was met with fierce resistance, as the assailants used a sharp object and threatened both the safety of law enforcement and innocent citizens.
One of the attackers attempted to seize the service weapon of a police officer, which prompted a firm response from one of the officers who was compelled to brandish his firearm as a precaution, without firing, to avert direct danger and restore order.
The police’s intervention was crucial, leading to the quick arrest of the involved parties before the situation could escalate further. Investigations are ongoing under the supervision of the appropriate public prosecutor to ascertain the motives behind this aggressive behavior and to clarify the circumstances of the case.
