Wydad Athletic Club is close to finalizing a deal for Cameroonian striker Vincent Aboubakar. Turkish media have reported that the Moroccan club has entered advanced negotiations with the player to secure his signature during the current summer transfer window.

Aboubakar is currently a free agent after terminating his contract with Hatayspor before the end of the season, which has opened the door for several clubs to negotiate with him. However, Wydad appears to be the frontrunner for the signing. According to the same sources, the Moroccan club is keen to sign the Cameroonian star for two years, and discussions have reached an advanced stage that could lead to a formal agreement in the coming days.

In recent weeks, Aboubakar’s name has been associated with several other Turkish clubs, including Sakaryaspor, but the latter’s coach, Irfan Buz, denied any contact with the player, enhancing the likelihood of his transfer outside Turkey for a new adventure.

Last season, Vincent Aboubakar played 28 matches for Hatayspor, scoring eight goals and providing two assists. He is considered one of the prominent Cameroonian names who have shone in European football, previously playing for Turkish club Beşiktaş and gaining widespread fame due to his physical strength and high goal-scoring ability.
