Two Arrested in Casablanca for Violent Assault on Participants at African Cultural Event

Police in the Hay Hassani district of Casablanca arrested two citizens from sub-Saharan Africa on Wednesday, July 23, on suspicion of involvement in a violent altercation accompanied by theft.

The security intervention followed reports that participants at a private event organized by African nationals in the “Al-Fa” area were attacked by another group from the same community, resulting in injuries and the theft of personal belongings.

Police teams responded immediately, successfully detaining two suspects and restoring order to the area.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the incident is linked to old personal disputes between the involved parties. The arrested individuals have been placed in custody as part of an inquiry overseen by the competent public prosecutor’s office to determine the precise circumstances and motives behind the incident.
