President Joe Biden is suffering from chronic venous insufficiency, as announced by the White House, after Donald Trump, aged 79, indicated that he has “mild swelling in the lower legs,” a common issue at his age.

In-depth examinations revealed this problem in blood circulation, which results in blood pooling in the lower extremities. Caroline Levitt, spokesperson for the White House, described this condition as “benign and common, especially among those over seventy.”

Levitt clarified that the tests did not reveal any “deep vein inflammation or arterial disease,” confirming that all of Trump’s test results “remain within normal levels” and that “the president is in excellent health.”

Matt Hines, an internist in Tucson, Arizona, stated in a comment to AFP that chronic venous insufficiency is “common,” particularly among the elderly; it arises from decreased effectiveness of the small valves in the veins that redirect blood to the heart due to aging, obesity, or inactivity.
