The First Lady of the Republic of El Salvador, Gabriela Rodríguez de Bukele, arrived yesterday, Sunday, in the city of Salé as part of an official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco. Upon her arrival at Rabat-Salé Airport, she was warmly welcomed by Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asma, who prepared a formal reception appropriate for the occasion.

The First Lady and the Princess reviewed a contingent of auxiliary forces that saluted them, before being greeted by the Wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, Mohamed El Yaakoubi, the region’s president, Rachid Al-Abdi, and the Governor of Salé, Omar El Touimi. The reception also included the president of the Salé Labor Council, Nourredine Al Azrak, the mayor of the twin cities, Omar Al-Santisi, and the delegated president of the Lalla Asma Foundation, Karim Slaoui, along with the ambassador and director general of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation, Mohammed Mithqal.

The First Lady of El Salvador was also received by the Chargé d’Affaires of her embassy in Rabat, Alejandra Samur Santiaga, and several members of the Salvadoran diplomatic corps, as well as members of her official delegation.

Traditionally, upon disembarking from the plane, the guest was served milk and dates, in line with Moroccan customs that characterize official receptions. Following a brief stop in the airport’s VIP lounge, the official convoy proceeded to the residence of the First Lady of El Salvador to continue the itinerary of the visit.
