Chinese Sunrise Textile Group Launches Two Industrial Projects in Morocco Worth 2.3 Billion Dirhams, Promising Thousands of Jobs

Follow-Up

The Chinese company Sunrise Textile is preparing to commence construction of two new textile factories in Skhirat and Fes starting from September 2025, as part of an overall investment totaling 2.3 billion dirhams.

According to official data, the project is expected to create approximately 7,000 direct jobs, in addition to 1,500 indirect jobs, with the total number potentially rising to 8,500 job opportunities, as announced by Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch.

The project aims to establish a comprehensive production chain that includes spinning, weaving, and garment manufacturing, thereby enhancing Morocco’s ability to reduce imports in this sector and lower logistical costs and production timelines, allowing national companies to meet international demands directly and efficiently.

The project agreement was signed on March 20, 2025 in the capital, Rabat, under the supervision of the Prime Minister and in the presence of several ministers and senior officials, manifesting a strong strategic partnership between Morocco and China, drawing from the vision of King Mohammed VI and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The project is expected to serve as a strong lever to enhance the competitiveness of the Moroccan textile sector and solidify the kingdom’s position as a regional industrial hub, contributing to job market development and supporting the local economy.
