A notable development occurred in the case of Said Al-Nasiri, the former president of Wydad Club, during Thursday’s session at the Casablanca Court of Appeals. He is currently in custody, suspected of being linked to a criminal network involved in drug trafficking.

Al-Nasiri’s lawyer made direct accusations against the main witness in the case, known as “T.Z.”, requesting that the court pursue charges of perjury against him and even called for him to be held in police custody.

The defense pointed out that the current statements of the witness contradict what he had previously testified before the judicial police and the investigating judge, asserting that his testimony is unstable and lacks credibility.

The witness in question is described as the right-hand man of an international drug trafficker nicknamed “the Escobar of the Sahara,” which complicates the case further, intertwining it with major issues concerning international drug trafficking networks.

This new development is expected to rearrange the positions of some parties involved and raises serious questions about the nature of the testimonies relied upon during the investigation from the outset.
