Reports indicate that Italian club Roma is continuing its efforts to sign Moroccan defender Nayef Aguerd on loan during the ongoing summer transfer window.

According to transfer news journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma is keen to strengthen its defense by bringing Aguerd from English side West Ham United. However, the management of the latter is currently unwilling to entertain the idea of letting the player leave on loan.

The Moroccan international had played last season on loan with Real Sociedad in Spain, participating in 25 league matches.

It is noted that Nayef Aguerd’s contract with West Ham runs until June 2027, after he joined the club in the summer of 2022 from French side Rennes.
