Follow-up

Rama Bourkia, the President of the Higher Council for Education, Training and Scientific Research, urged for intensified efforts and a faster pace of work to tackle the structural challenges hindering the reform of the education system. She emphasized the importance of focusing on central issues that have a direct impact on the reform process.

During the opening of the ninth session of the second term of the General Assembly of the council, held today in Rabat, Bourkia stressed the necessity of making efficiency and effectiveness a shared goal in the council’s work, given its pivotal role in monitoring the state of the education and training system in all its components.

The speaker noted that the council, as a body for vigilance and evaluation, is required to support the reform by providing accurate analyses, opinions, and assessments, whether comprehensive, thematic, or sectoral. She also called for targeting structural issues in the second half of the current term, as these critical areas enable the council to present a realistic and objective picture of the system’s status.

She highlighted the importance of enhancing the quality of the reports and opinions issued by the council, aiming for it to be a real proposal power that supports the desired transformation in education and training, while ensuring respect for good governance principles and institutional effectiveness.

Bourkia also pointed out that the council conducted a comprehensive evaluation of its previous work over the past three months, aiming to strengthen achievements and correct administrative and managerial deficiencies, which is expected to improve the productivity of the council and its various structures.

She considered the council to play a strategic role in generating educational knowledge, conducting analyses and evaluations that contribute to the development of the system and fulfill the aspirations of families and society for quality and effective education.

The agenda for this session includes presenting a report from the Curriculum and Programs Committee on the resilience of the educational system during crises and ensuring pedagogical continuity, in addition to offering presentations on the projects of permanent committees and organizing elections to renew the office and the structure of the committees and council bodies.
