North Macedonia Commends Moroccan Reforms and Royal Initiatives for Africa
North Macedonia has praised the deep reforms undertaken by Morocco under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. The country expressed its support for royal initiatives aimed at enhancing development and stability on the African continent, particularly in the Atlantic region.
This position came in a joint statement signed today, Monday, in the capital Skopje, between Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad Nasser Bourita, and his Macedonian counterpart Teimuraz Motsuntski. North Macedonia valued the “significant reforms that Morocco has witnessed over the past two decades, and the ongoing efforts to achieve political, economic, and social development.”
Skopje conveyed its appreciation for the new development model adopted by the Kingdom of Morocco and its strategic direction towards establishing advanced regionalization as a governance and local development option. It also highlighted the Atlantic initiatives launched by His Majesty the King, including the “African Atlantic Countries Process” and the “international initiative to facilitate access for Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean,” in addition to the Nigeria-Morocco Atlantic Gas Pipeline project.
North Macedonia confirmed that these initiatives are a true lever for enhancing South-South cooperation and establishing the African Atlantic space as a geostrategic framework aimed at sustainable development, peace, and prosperity on the continent.
In this context, North Macedonia commended Morocco’s advanced regional role, considering it a pivotal hub for stability and development in Africa.
