Morocco Launches National Program to Support Exports and Create 76,000 Job Opportunities by 2027
Omar Hejira, Secretary of State for Foreign Trade, announced the launch of a new national program extending from 2025 to 2027, aimed at enhancing the performance of Moroccan exports and creating 76,000 job positions. The initiative will inject over 80 billion dirhams into the foreign trade balance and encourage 400 new companies to enter international markets annually.
During a presentation to members of parliament, Hejira confirmed that this program represents a significant advancement in foreign trade support policy, covering 80% of costs related to export development and opening the door for stakeholders ranging from major corporations to rural cooperatives.
The government official explained that the program targets all regions through a network of 12 regional offices, providing technical and financial support to enterprises regardless of their size or geographical location. This new positioning allows economic players in remote areas to benefit from the same opportunities available to businesses based in major cities, thereby reinforcing the vision of inclusive and comprehensive development.
Hejira emphasized the need to change the traditional relationship between administration and businesses, stating, “It is no longer necessary to travel to Rabat; we will go to entrepreneurs wherever they are.” He added that success requires active engagement from all involved parties.
He urged economic stakeholders to take advantage of the program’s mechanisms and engage in its new dynamics, asserting that state support alone is insufficient without direct and responsible interaction from businesses.
This program comes as Morocco seeks to diversify its exports and achieve economic growth based on innovation and openness, while strengthening its position within global value chains.
