Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the 2030 World Cup Committee and President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, responded to circulating news regarding the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid hosting the final of the 2030 World Cup. He confirmed that such reports do not rely on any official decisions and that the selection of stadiums for the tournament has not yet been finalized.
Lekjaa explained that the list of stadiums would be the result of joint negotiations among the three organizing countries of the World Cup: Morocco, Spain, and Portugal, in coordination with FIFA. He pointed out that the official authorities responsible for preparing for the tournament are specialized committees in each country, not club presidents.
He emphasized that the media speculation, whether in Spain, Portugal, or Morocco, is binding only on the news outlets, as the only official decisions are those issued by FIFA and the relevant organizing committees concerning the three countries being awarded the honor of hosting the 2030 World Cup.
In a different context, the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation highlighted the remarkable progress of Moroccan football in recent years, both at the national and club levels, noting that the new sports infrastructure currently being developed will serve as a real catalyst for further achievements and success on the international stage.
