Justice Faces "Hicham Girando Gang": Verdict on Minor Malak Tahri
The correctional court in Ain Sebaa issued a ruling today against the minor Malak Tahri, one of the defendants in a case linked to the "Hicham Girando Gang," which has captured public attention. The court sentenced her to a reprimand and placed her under a supervised freedom system for three months at her residence, under the supervision of the president of the first instance court in Nador.
This case involves four relatives of the Moroccan YouTuber residing in Canada, Hicham Girando, who are charged with participating in the distribution and broadcasting of false claims aimed at violating privacy, defamation, threats, and insulting a constitutional body, in addition to insulting an organized body. The accused, except for Malak’s mother, remain in custody at the local prison in Oukacha.
The case has garnered public attention since the beginning of investigations, particularly after being widely circulated on social media platforms, which prompted many activists to demand the enforcement of the law against all involved and to deepen the inquiry to uncover other parties implicated in the case.
Observers of national affairs view the court’s decision as wise, balancing the interests and rights of the child "Malak," while also affirming the country’s human rights trajectory under the leadership of the Kingdom at the Global Human Rights Council.
