In coordination with the DGSN, Spanish National Police dismantles an international network and seizes over 15 tons of hashish coming from Nador in Almería
On Wednesday, July 3, 2025, the Europa Press news agency reported that the Spanish National Police, in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGSN) and French security agencies, managed to seize a truck in the city of Almería that was coming from Nador, carrying more than 15.3 tons of hashish.
According to official data, the drugs were carefully hidden among boards of watermelon and inside fake sweet potatoes made of plastic, in an attempt to conceal the shipment from inspections.
The operation, dubbed “San Pedro,” was executed on June 19, 2025, resulting in the arrest of eight individuals in Almería and Torremolinos, suspected of belonging to an international network engaged in large-scale hashish trafficking.
The operation’s chief, Antonio Jesús Martínez Duarte, confirmed that the intervention had successfully dismantled the logistical structure of the network and prevented the redistribution of the drugs to other trucks that were likely destined for France, which was the supposed final destination of the shipment.
The Spanish National Police shared a video on its X platform account documenting the moment of the truck inspection and the seizure of the smuggled hashish.
