Suspicion of the Son Leads to Exhumation After Five Years of Burial in Khénifra
Suspicion from the son of a deceased individual has triggered an unprecedented judicial investigation, culminating yesterday in the exhumation of a man in his sixties who passed away in 2020, at the cemetery in the village of Krouchen near Khénifra.
The operation was ordered by the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Appeal in Béni Mellal, following a formal request submitted by the deceased’s son, who resides in a European country. He expressed strong doubts regarding the circumstances surrounding his father’s death, prompting the prosecution to intervene and launch an investigation to clarify the ambiguities that had remained unresolved for five years.
The remains were extracted in the presence of members of the royal gendarmerie and local authorities, supported by a medical team specialized in forensic medicine. The remains were transported to the morgue for necessary analyses and examinations to accurately determine the cause of death.
According to local sources, the exhumation process was conducted under strict security and organizational conditions, respecting the sensitivity of the situation and the sanctity of the deceased, as investigations and scientific analyses await the results.
The public prosecution is currently continuing its inquiry into the case, while local public opinion anticipates the results of the examinations, which may reshape the understanding of a case buried for five years.
