The Moroccan women’s national team achieved a stunning victory over the Democratic Republic of Congo with a score of 4-2 in a match held on Wednesday evening at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, as part of the second round of the group stage of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The match began at a quick pace with the Congolese team opening the scoring early in the sixth minute through player Mighvie Kanginga, capitalizing on a moment of confusion in the Moroccan defense.

However, the “Atlas Lionesses” managed to bounce back, with captain Ghizlane scoring the equalizer in the 25th minute before she put Morocco ahead again with her second goal in the 43rd minute, concluding the first half with a 2-1 lead for the Moroccan side.

In the second half, the Congolese team attempted to return to the match, succeeding through player Flavine Mawiti who scored the equalizer in the 70th minute. But the response from the Moroccans was swift, as Ghizlane restored the national team’s lead with a third goal in the 75th minute, before Yasmin Al-Marrabit sealed the victory for Morocco with a fourth goal in the 83rd minute.

With this win, Morocco’s total points rose to 4, temporarily placing the team at the top of Group A, while the Democratic Republic of Congo remains without points at the bottom of the group after suffering their second consecutive defeat.
