A video showing a man disrupting the tramway service in Casablanca has prompted a swift response from police, leading to his arrest and subsequent transfer to a hospital.
Casablanca’s police authority reacted promptly and seriously to a video circulating on social media, which depicted a nude individual blocking the tramway tracks in a reckless manner, endangering both himself and other road users.
Security sources confirmed that the incident occurred on Thursday, July 3, when police officers in the Fida-Mers Sultan security district intervened immediately upon spotting the video, successfully detaining the individual in a short span of time.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is a foreign national from a sub-Saharan African country. He has been placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor.
He was also taken to a local hospital for a medical examination to assess his mental and psychological state, pending the completion of legal procedures.
