Warning Shots in El Jadida: Three Delinquents Assault Citizens, Police Respond Swiftly
Ahmed Oussar
An officer working for the regional police in El Jadida fired warning shots from his service weapon in the early hours of Saturday, June 14, to neutralize the threat posed by three individuals who were in a state of extreme agitation and threatened the safety of citizens and police officers with a knife.
The police intervention followed reports of three individuals committing theft, assault, and injuries in a public street, prompting a police patrol to intervene and detain the suspects. One of the assailants violently resisted the police, leading one officer to fire shots into the air as a precaution.
This intervention allowed the threat to be neutralized, resulting in the swift arrest of one of the suspects, a 17-year-old minor.
The public prosecutor has ordered a judicial investigation concerning the detained individual, while investigations continue to apprehend the remaining accomplices, whose identities have been fully established.
