The General Directorate for Investigations of the Russian Investigative Committee classified the explosions affecting sections of railway structures and bridges in the Bryansk and Kursk regions from May 31 to June 1 as acts of terrorism, in accordance with Article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code.

Peterenko noted that the terrorists who carried out these crimes, with the guidance of the Kyiv regime, meticulously planned every detail to ensure that hundreds of civilians would be harmed and injured following their attacks.

The aforementioned terrorist attacks resulted in the deaths of seven individuals, injuries to dozens more, and medical assistance provided to 113, including several children.

The spokesperson confirmed that during the initial investigations, remnants of explosive devices and other material evidence were found at the scene. Testimonies were collected from witnesses, victims, and some staff of Russian Railways.

Peterenko emphasized that, with the on-ground support from the Federal Security Service of Russia and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the identities of the organizers and perpetrators of these inhumane crimes would be determined and held criminally accountable.

Incidents related to the railway occurred on May 31 and June 1 in the Bryansk and Kursk regions.

Peterenko stated that the incident in Bryansk took place at 10:50 PM on May 31 when a car bridge collapsed, and its debris fell onto a passenger train passing underneath.

In Kursk, the collapse of a train bridge at 3 AM on June 1 caused a train traveling over it to fall onto a road below, injuring the train’s driver and two of his assistants.
