The Merchants’ Association Warns of Increasing Thefts in the Kebbat Neighborhood and Calls for Enhanced Security
Kénitra – The newspaper “Express TV” received a statement from the Kénitra Merchants’ Association expressing concern over the rising thefts targeting several shops in the Kebbat neighborhood, with 11 incidents reported in the past three weeks.
According to the statement, a minor was caught in the act of stealing inside one of the shops after she managed to slip in by taking advantage of her slight build. She was later released despite the existence of security camera footage documenting the incident. Local sources reported that authorities detained the minor’s mother on suspicions of directing her daughter to commit these acts.
The newspaper also received video clips documenting some thefts, showing individuals moving within commercial establishments before the incidents, raising questions about the nature of these actions and the possibility of other individuals being involved.
In its statement, the Merchants’ Association expressed fears over the continued occurrence of such incidents, indicating that the repeated thefts should prompt relevant authorities to take measures to ensure security in the commercial area. It also called for an investigation into the matter and an increased police presence in the region, especially during peak shopping periods.
The association urged all professionals to report any similar incidents and to cooperate with authorities to mitigate these phenomena, emphasizing that maintaining a climate of trust and stability requires a collaborative effort among all stakeholders.
