The Kremlin has denied having any plans for a communication between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump following the U.S. attack on nuclear facilities in Iran, while not ruling out the possibility of rapid contact if necessary.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated to the Russian news agency TASS that there are currently no expected plans for a conversation between the two presidents, noting that quick communication is possible if circumstances require it.
This Russian stance came after Trump announced earlier on Sunday that American aircraft had successfully carried out an attack on three Iranian nuclear facilities.
The American president revealed in a post on the Truth Social platform that U.S. planes dropped a “full payload of bombs” on the Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan sites before leaving Iranian airspace without interception.
The United States joined the ongoing Israeli aggression against Iran early Sunday, which has been targeting nuclear facilities, missile bases, scientists, and military leaders since June 13. In response, Tehran launched ballistic missiles and drones deep into Israeli territory, marking the largest direct confrontation between the two parties.
