Economy and Finance Minister Nadia Fettah announced that the government has conducted 182,000 price control operations since the beginning of the year until the end of May, resulting in the registration of 12,000 violations. This was stated in response to an oral question in the House of Representatives on Monday, posed by the Democratic Constitutional Social team regarding mechanisms for price monitoring.
The minister noted that these monitoring campaigns also led to the disposal of more than 1,000 tons of foodstuffs unfit for consumption, as part of efforts aimed at protecting consumers and ensuring price stability.
Fettah clarified that these measures are part of a comprehensive strategy to preserve citizens’ purchasing power and guarantee price stability in various national markets.
