The Jordanian national team achieved a historic milestone under the guidance of Moroccan coach Jamal Al-Salami, securing their first-ever qualification for the 2026 World Cup.

This achievement followed their well-deserved victory against the host team, Oman, with a score of three goals to nil in the ninth and penultimate round of the Asian qualifiers, while benefiting from Iraq’s loss to South Korea, who won two-nil.

Thus, the Jordanian team raised its points to 16, placing second behind South Korea, which leads with 19 points, while Iraq remains at 12 points, sealing one of the qualification spots for Jordan ahead of the final round of qualifiers.

In the match against Oman, forward Ali Alwan stood out by scoring a stunning hat-trick, netting goals in the 45+7 minute from a penalty, and in the 51st and 64th minutes, leading his country to a historic win.
