NARSA Implements Smart Radars and Enhances Digitization to Ensure Service Safety and Efficiency

The National Road Safety Agency (NARSA) has announced a series of new digital and technical measures aimed at improving road surveillance and simplifying the services offered to citizens. This initiative aligns with its commitment to enhancing road safety and solidifying digital transformation in administrative performance.

The agency has launched the distribution of approximately 500 fixed smart radars across various regions of the Kingdom, equipped with high-precision technology that allows for speed violations to be detected at distances up to 1,500 meters. These devices can monitor infractions in both directions, whether cars are approaching or moving away, and even from parallel roads to the radar’s location, marking a significant upgrade in road monitoring systems.

NARSA has also embraced extensive digitization of its services, allowing users to carry out a number of transactions remotely, including checking the status of vehicles prior to purchase or conducting sales and purchases electronically. NARSA has provided a dedicated portal for professionals in the transport sector, enabling them to submit renewal requests and obtain grants entirely digitally, in a move towards making all its services 100% electronic.

Additionally, the agency has bolstered its digital security framework to ensure the protection of citizens’ privacy and data, by equipping its platform with advanced cybersecurity measures in light of rapid technological developments. It affirmed that the success of this digital initiative hinges on maintaining security to build trust among users.

Through these steps, the National Road Safety Agency aims to establish itself as a body actively engaged in digital transformation, leveraging technology to enhance road safety and improve the quality of services provided to citizens and professionals.
