"Narsa": A New Registration Plate for Those Planning to Travel Abroad
The National Road Safety Agency "Narsa" has issued a clarifying statement addressed to all citizens, particularly Moroccans intending to leave the national territory in their vehicles during the summer holidays.
This announcement is part of efforts to ensure the safety of travelers and to comply with the legal provisions concerning vehicle registration during international travel.
In its statement, the agency urged adherence to the provisions of Article 28 of Ministerial Decision No. 2711.10 relating to the registration of motor vehicles and trailers, as amended.
It emphasized that all motor vehicles registered in Morocco, which plan to cross borders, must be equipped with a registration plate that enables legal identification of the vehicle abroad.
Current legislation stipulates that the registration plate must include capital Latin letters corresponding to the Arabic letters of the second part of the Moroccan registration number, along with the mandatory inclusion of the "MA" code indicating Morocco on the rear of the vehicle, in a format that facilitates the identification of the vehicle’s country of origin in the international context, as follows:
