Morocco Strengthens Its Tourism Openness with Strategic Agreement with Turkish Airlines

The Moroccan National Tourist Office has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Turkish Airlines in Casablanca, aimed at expanding cooperation in tourism promotion and air connectivity, and enhancing Morocco’s presence in the international tourism arena.

This move seeks to unify efforts in marketing and showcasing Morocco’s tourism offerings through promotional campaigns and media initiatives targeting promising markets with high potential.

Through this agreement, both parties aim to leverage Istanbul Airport as a global air hub that opens new avenues for attracting diverse tourist segments, particularly from Asia, by organizing familiarization trips for industry professionals and international media. The collaboration also aspires to increase the frequency of flights to Moroccan cities and strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a competitive tourist destination globally.

Achraf Faida, the General Director of the Moroccan National Tourist Office, emphasized that this partnership aligns with the strategic direction of the office to diversify markets and expand the visitor base, considering Istanbul Airport a key platform for accessing new tourist destinations.

He stressed that the agreement embodies a shared commitment to building long-term cooperation, combining Turkish Airlines’ international expertise with Morocco’s ambitious vision in the tourism sector.

The agreement was signed during an official ceremony celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Turkish company’s operations in Morocco, which began in 2019 with the Istanbul-Marrakech route, later increasing the number of flights to nine weekly during the summer, reflecting the success of the partnership and its promising future prospects.
