Operation Marhaba 2025: The Ministry of Transport Mobilizes a Massive Fleet to Ensure the Transport of 7.5 Million Passengers and 2 Million Cars
The Ministry of Transport and Logistics continues to mobilize its technical and human resources as part of the preparations for Operation Marhaba 2025. This involves meticulous coordination with various stakeholders to secure transport services across all modes and to provide sufficient capacity to ensure the smooth operation.
Abdel Samad Guijout, Minister of Transport and Logistics, confirmed in response to a question in the House of Representatives regarding ticket prices that 29 ferries have been made available across 13 maritime routes, with a total capacity of 500,000 passengers and 130,000 cars weekly. This amounts to a total of 7.5 million passengers and 2 million cars over 7,800 maritime trips.
Regarding air transport, 59 airlines have been authorized to operate approximately 2,135 weekly flights connecting the kingdom’s airports to 141 international airports. The minister highlighted that Royal Air Maroc has mobilized four additional aircraft during the summer season, raising its capacity to 6.6 million seats, which is an increase of 700,000 compared to last year, reaffirming its commitment to the success of Operation Marhaba.
Guijout explained that Morocco has adopted an open skies policy since 2006, allowing over 50 airlines to settle in the kingdom, including low-cost carriers. This has significantly enhanced the country’s connectivity with international markets, particularly in Europe, ensuring a diverse range of flights to meet the needs of the Moroccan expatriate community.
