Mohammed V Airport: 5.6 Kilograms of Cocaine Seized from African National Arriving from South America
On Friday, June 27, national security forces at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca arrested a 24-year-old African national on suspicion of involvement in an international cocaine smuggling attempt.
The arrest occurred immediately upon his arrival on a flight from one of the South American airports. A security inspection revealed five kilograms and 600 grams of cocaine, carefully hidden inside his personal belongings.
The suspect has been placed under judicial custody, pending an investigation conducted by the Casablanca judicial police, in coordination with the relevant public prosecutor’s office, to uncover all circumstances and extensions of this operation.
This operation falls within the strategy of the General Directorate of National Security aimed at drying up the sources of drug smuggling and dismantling cross-border criminal networks.
