The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday the dismantling of 62 networks involved in sexual exploitation and nine others dedicated to human organ trafficking since the beginning of the year.
Colonel Abbas Al-Bahadli, the ministry’s spokesperson, stated in a post on the ministry’s Facebook page that the fight against human trafficking by the Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency managed to dismantle these networks in the first half of this year.
Al-Bahadli also noted the dismantling of 15 additional networks related to forced labor, four networks for child trafficking, and six others for begging, highlighting the arrest of 82 suspects in cases of witchcraft and sorcery.
