Excessive heat is sweeping through Morocco tomorrow, Monday, as doctors warn of heatstroke.

The General Directorate of Meteorology expects Morocco to experience a severe heatwave tomorrow, affecting several regions, accompanied by unstable weather and strong winds that could stir up dust in some areas.

Official data indicates temperatures ranging from hot to very hot in the northern and central plains, the Saïs region, southern Rif, Phosphate Plateaus, and southern Eastern regions, as well as in the inland Souss and southern provinces.

The weather will be relatively warm over the Middle Atlas and the eastern region, with unstable clouds forming that may lead to scattered rain and thunderstorms in the High and Anti-Atlas mountains and their eastern slopes.

Local fog is expected to form during the morning and night along the Mediterranean and southern coasts.

Winds will be relatively strong in the southeastern areas, central regions, desert provinces, Tangier, and the Atlas mountain highlands, with the possibility of dust storms in some locations.

Minimum temperatures will range from 30 to 35 degrees in the extreme southeastern regions, between 17 and 25 degrees in the Atlas mountains, southern regions, Mediterranean coasts, and eastern areas, and between 25 and 30 degrees in the remaining regions.

During the day, temperatures are expected to decrease slightly along the central coasts, in the Souss area, and the western southern provinces.

The sea will be calm to slightly choppy in the Mediterranean and the Strait of Gibraltar, and slightly choppy to rough in the north, while it will generally be rough to very rough in the south, particularly at night near Cape Barbas.

In light of these conditions, doctors advise avoiding outdoor activities during the afternoon, drinking plenty of water, wearing light and sun-protective clothing, and refraining from heavy physical exertion in open spaces. They emphasize protecting children and the elderly from direct sun exposure.
