500 Food Baskets Distributed: Morocco Continues Its Support for Gaza Residents Through Various Initiatives

On Wednesday, relief teams from the Irtika Association for Community Development in Gaza completed the distribution of 500 food baskets to the most needy families in several areas of the Strip. This humanitarian initiative was launched by the Al-Quds Bayt Mal Agency, which is affiliated with the Al-Quds Committee, chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

The operation was carried out in phases, funded by the Moroccan Association for the Support of Reconstruction in Palestine, with contributions from the Moroccan-Palestinian Solidarity Association. It targeted displaced families in Khan Younis, the Middle Governorate, the central camps, and Gaza City.

This initiative aimed to bolster food security and ease the difficult living conditions many families face amid ongoing crises in the region. This intervention comes as part of Morocco’s ongoing support—both official and grassroots—for the Palestinian cause, through humanitarian and developmental initiatives designed to improve the living conditions of local populations across various sectors.

The Al-Quds Bayt Mal Agency has also continued its efforts to provide substantial assistance, having allocated the first payments from its budget for a prosthetic limb project benefiting 23 amputee children in Gaza last May. This was coordinated with the Palestinian Ministry of Social Development in Ramallah, with support from the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration, and Family in the Kingdom of Morocco.

Moreover, the agency has supported higher education by providing cloud servers and a remote learning platform for Al-Azhar University in Gaza, along with awarding registration grants to students from the King Hassan II College of Agricultural Sciences affiliated with the university. The Hassan II Institute of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine in Rabat welcomed eight Palestinian students to continue their studies, as part of a scientific and humanitarian partnership that strengthens ties between Morocco and Palestine.

These initiatives reflect Morocco’s steadfast commitment to supporting the Palestinian people, not only through immediate relief but also through sustainable investments in education, health, and social integration, which bolster the resilience of Gaza’s residents in the face of successive crises.
