Dismantling a Forgery Network Selling Fake Cars in Oujda
On the evening of Tuesday, June 3, members of the Oujda judicial police arrested four individuals suspected of belonging to a criminal network specializing in forging and falsifying technical data for vehicles and using counterfeit documents.
Investigations revealed that the network employed criminal methods that focused on faking license plates, falsifying vehicle data, and forging ownership documents with the aim of reselling these vehicles in the used car markets across Morocco.
The research enabled authorities to identify and apprehend the four suspects within the city, while searches led to the seizure of ten vehicles with counterfeit license plates parked in garages in a neighborhood of Oujda.
The detainees have been placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. Investigations are ongoing to identify other individuals involved in this network and to uncover its potential extensions.
