CAF Extends Deadline for Submitting Club Names for Continental Competitions to July 31st

- in Sports

The African Football Confederation (CAF) has extended the deadline for national federations to submit the names of clubs representing them in the CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup for the 2025-2026 season, with July 31 set as the final date.

According to reliable sources, CAF will not make any changes to the formats of the two continental competitions, which will maintain the same structure as in recent seasons. The competitions are expected to officially start in mid-September, following the conclusion of the African Nations Championship scheduled for August.

As per this decision, each football federation is required to submit a list of four clubs, with two teams participating in the CAF Champions League and two others in the Confederation Cup, based on their results in the domestic leagues for the concluded season.

This extension responds to the compressed schedule faced by clubs and federations, ensuring that teams can complete their local commitments under favorable conditions before embarking on the upcoming continental competitions.
