The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests has overseen the preparation and approval of 58 projects as part of the Solidarity Agriculture Program aimed at livestock raising, with a total investment of approximately 500 million dirhams.
During a session of oral questions in the House of Councillors, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests Ahmed Al Bouari announced that these projects are distributed across 39 provinces and 180 local communities, benefiting more than 25,000 individuals.
These projects included the distribution of around 37,000 heads of sheep, goats, dairy cows, and camels, in addition to providing feed and livestock supplies, and establishing and equipping 99 units for growing sprouted barley.
The initiatives also involved the establishment of 9 fattening centers, two dairy and sheep barns, the purchase of 963 tons of forage crop seeds, the planting of about 5,000 hectares of fodder shrubs, and the equipping of 124 water points.
The projects also aimed to support genetic improvement by establishing 10 groups of goat and sheep breeders, along with providing training and technical support to the benefiting cooperatives and agricultural organizations.
The minister indicated that the number of projects is expected to rise to nearly 200 in the near future, reflecting the strategic direction towards enhancing food security and developing livestock raising chains within the framework of solidarity agriculture.
