Akhannouch presides over the Agricultural Credit’s Supervisory Board meeting, revealing government support for farmers
Today, Wednesday, Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch presided over the meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Agricultural Credit Group in Rabat, dedicated to reviewing the bank’s activity results and its action plan for the coming years.
During the meeting, Akhannouch praised the group’s role in supporting rural communities, commending its commitment to implementing royal directives regarding the support program for farmers and the national herd’s revitalization, particularly concerning the restructuring and alleviation of farmers’ debts.
As of December 31, 2024, the group recorded a net banking product of 4.5 billion dirhams, benefiting from effective control over operating expenses. The consolidated net banking product grew by 28 percent, while the social net increased by 32 percent, results confirmed by data from the first quarter of 2025.
The board approved an action plan aimed at strengthening the bank’s financial robustness while maintaining its public mission, which will be implemented under an agreement between the state, the Agricultural Credit Group, and the National Agency for Strategic Management of State Participations.
It was also announced that the state will finance the support program for farmers with a total exceeding 700 million dirhams, targeting 50,000 farmers who are bank clients, and offering special loan facilities.
