A massive fire engulfed a residential house in La Baytah neighborhood of Kenitra this evening, causing panic among residents and almost resulting in loss of life without the swift intervention of local youths.
Local sources confirmed that the fire broke out on the upper floor of a house inhabited by a mother, her two children, and a baby, trapping them in thick smoke and flames. A group of brave young men from the neighborhood rushed into the house and managed to save the family members at the last moment.
The victims were transported to the hospital for treatment, and initial reports indicate that their condition is stable and not a cause for concern.
Upon being alerted, civil protection, security services, and local authorities, along with forensic police, arrived on the scene to investigate the causes and circumstances of the fire.
The incident sparked a wave of sympathy and praise for the neighborhood youths, who were described by neighbors as “real heroes,” with calls for authorities to honor them for their heroic actions that saved lives.
