The World Health Organization adopted the international agreement on pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response on Tuesday, following three years of intense negotiations.
Ted Herbosa, the Health Secretary of the Philippines who presides over the World Health Assembly, stated, “Is the Assembly ready to adopt this resolution? I see no objection. The resolution has been adopted,” prompting applause from the attending delegates in the hall in Geneva.
