Saudi Al-Nassr’s sporting director: “30 clubs want to sign Ronaldo”

Fernando Hierro, the sporting director of Saudi Al-Nassr, held a press conference to assess the team’s performance during the past season, outlining his future aspirations and the club’s strategic direction.

Hierro did not hide the team’s disappointment after failing to reach the final of the Asian Champions League and exiting early from the King’s Cup, results that sparked debates about the future of several team stars, including Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Hierro confirmed that Ronaldo is still under contract with Al-Nassr until June 30, stating that the significant interest in him from other clubs is natural given his sporting and marketing value. He added, “I can confirm there are over thirty clubs eager to sign him; everyone wants him.”

The sporting director praised the Portuguese star for bringing global attention to the Saudi league, emphasizing that his presence has been a key factor in attracting many prominent players to the kingdom. He also revealed the club’s intention to renew his contract due to the added value he represents both sports-wise and commercially.

Hierro categorically denied any indications of Ronaldo’s intention to leave, stating, “I haven’t seen anything like that. I approach things positively and don’t think about the possibility of his departure.” He assured that the club management is working hard on multiple fronts to ensure a better season and achieve results that match the ambitions of Al-Nassr’s fans.
