The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has announced that Thursday, May 29, 2025, marks the first day of the month of Dhul-Hijjah in the year 1446 AH, and that Eid al-Adha will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
In an official statement, the ministry explained that it monitored the crescent moon of Dhul-Hijjah after sunset on Tuesday, the 29th of Dhul-Qi’dah 1446 AH, corresponding to May 27, 2025, in coordination with the representatives of Islamic affairs in various regions of the Kingdom, and the units of the Royal Armed Forces responsible for moon sighting, where all confirmed that the crescent moon was not sighted.
The ministry confirmed that the month of Dhul-Qi’dah has completed thirty days, determining Thursday as the first day of Dhul-Hijjah, and thus Saturday, June 7, will be the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah, coinciding with Eid al-Adha, one of the most significant religious occasions for Muslims.
In conclusion, the ministry raised its hands in prayer for this holy month and Eid al-Adha to be bestowed upon King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, his heir Prince Moulay Hassan, Prince Moulay Rachid, all members of the royal family, the Moroccan people, and the entire Islamic nation, with goodness, prosperity, and blessings.
