Morocco Receives Praise from the Netherlands for Its Role in Peace Initiatives in the Middle East

Christian Rebergen, the Secretary-General of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, commended Morocco’s active role in supporting peace efforts in the Middle East, led by King Mohammed VI, Chair of the Al-Quds Committee.

This statement was made during a press conference held today, Tuesday, in Rabat, on the sidelines of the fifth meeting of the Global Coalition to implement the two-state solution, co-chaired by the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Rebergen noted that this joint presidency reflects the strength of cooperation between the two countries and expresses their shared values and principles in addressing international issues.

In this context, the Dutch official expressed his gratitude to Morocco for hosting this important event, emphasizing that organizing it in Rabat gives it a special dimension given the symbolic significance of the location and Morocco’s regional role.

Rebergen also highlighted the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, stressing the need to facilitate the immediate and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid in accordance with humanitarian international law, which is one of the main focuses of this meeting.

This international gathering aims to take practical steps to activate the two-state solution by evaluating previous peace experiences, highlighting successes, enhancing regional and international coordination, as well as formulating concrete recommendations for confidence-building measures and expanding the dialogue.

The meeting saw the participation of delegations from over fifty countries and international and regional organizations, reflecting a broad consensus on the necessity to continue efforts to establish two states living securely and peacefully side by side.
