The Spanish newspaper “Marca” has reported that Wydad Athletic Club has entered the race to sign Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, currently of Al Nassr, in light of the reinforcements the club aims to make during the summer transfer window.

The Spanish publication noted that the Moroccan club seeks to benefit from the international player’s services in the FIFA Club World Cup, scheduled to take place in the United States between June 15 and July 13.

The same media source stated that Wydad views this deal as a significant addition in terms of visibility, marketing, and the sporting aspect, emphasizing that the contractual agreement may only apply to the Club World Cup competition.

Ronaldo’s contract with Al Nassr expires on June 30, amid speculation connecting him to several clubs he might join.

It’s worth mentioning that Wydad is in Group G of the Club World Cup alongside Al Ain, Juventus, and Manchester City.
