Dismantling of an International Drug Trafficking Network in the Suburbs of Oulad Teima and Seizure of Over 4 Tons of Hashish

On the evening of Friday, May 2, elements of the judicial police in Agadir arrested a 66-year-old man on suspicion of involvement with a network engaged in international drug trafficking. This operation was carried out in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance.

The operation took place in the outskirts of Oulad Teima, within an agricultural estate in the Oulad Kroum area, resulting in the seizure of a massive quantity of hashish amounting to 4 tons and 328 kilograms, distributed across 105 bundles. These were loaded onto a utility vehicle.

Security services also discovered a rubber boat and a light vehicle on the same estate, suspected of being used in smuggling activities via maritime or land routes.

The suspect has been placed under judicial custody, pending further investigation under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor’s office. This aims to clarify all circumstances and dimensions of this case and uncover the potential extensions of the criminal network.

This operation is part of ongoing efforts by national security and territorial surveillance services to combat international drug trafficking networks and dry up their sources of funding.
