Casablanca hosts a Moroccan-Mauritanian meeting to enhance cooperation in governance and development
The headquarters of the Casablanca-Settat region welcomed on Wednesday a meeting between Mohamed Mehidiya, the region’s governor, and a high-level Mauritanian delegation that included local officials and managers of local development companies.
This meeting is part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, particularly in the areas of local governance, decentralization, sustainable development, and spatial justice.
The session featured an exchange of experiences and expertise between the two sides, with Moroccan officials presenting a report on the region’s management of territorial affairs and the roles of local development companies in implementing major projects.
This meeting is aligned with Morocco’s South-South cooperation initiatives and its strategy to strengthen ties with African countries based on the exchange of expertise and field experiences.
