Abdel Salam Belkashour Withdraws Candidacy for Raja Presidency and Reveals Reasons
Abdel Salam Belkashour, the President of the National Professional Football League, has announced his withdrawal from the candidacy for the presidency of Raja Club Athletic, despite having previously confirmed his intention in recent media appearances.
In a post shared on his official Facebook account, Belkashour explained that his decision came after recent developments at the club, particularly regarding the management of the transfer policy by the current president, amid the absence of a technical management team, a sports director, and a specialized committee. He noted that these factors clearly reflect the current president’s insistence on holding onto his position, with no intention of relinquishing it.
Belkashour pointed out that the closure of membership registration and the delays in announcing the date of the electoral general assembly signal a clear desire to exclude potential competitors and prevent them from presenting their alternative projects. He viewed this as an obstacle to implementing his sporting project, which he claimed to have worked on for a long time with the aim of serving the club.
He emphasized that his primary goal had always been to unite the Raja family and contribute to restoring the stability of the team, regardless of his position within the club. However, he confirmed that the current reality does not align with this vision, prompting him to make the decision to withdraw.
Belkashour concluded his post by extending sincere wishes for success and excellence to Raja Club Athletic, emphasizing that serving this great entity is an honor for any administrator, and he will remain loyal to it under any circumstances.
