President Donald Trump met with transitional Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara in Riyadh on Wednesday, as stated by a U.S. official, following his pledge to lift sanctions on Syria.
The White House official informed Agence France-Presse that Trump and al-Shara met ahead of a broader gathering of Gulf leaders in Saudi Arabia, on the sidelines of Trump’s tour in the region.
